"Education & Life Skills Through Football in Penang Malaysia"
At ESS the focus is very much on fun – a national network of friendly professionally run training classes where enthusiastic boys & girls (24 months – 16th years old) are given a helping hand to stand firmly on their own two feet.
Of course we believe that a head start in sport is a fantastic investment in the future and naturally we’d be as pleased as punch if any of our former pupils go on to greater glories in the golden game.
However ESS is not a guaranteed passport to soccer fame and fortune!
Our GOAL is to use soccer as a fun forum to instill our growing squad with a little extra confidence, co-ordination (coordination), control, patience ability to listen and to understand simple instructions, and sense of camaraderie;
· Invaluable social skills like listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork are conscientiously woven into an involving programme that places as much emphasis on simple learning concepts like colors, shapes , well spoken English and numbers as it does on fine-tuning a child’s basic balance, agility and co-ordination(coordination).
At the launch of ESS in 2010, pre-school obesity was very much an issue along with children’s lack of co-ordination, agility and fitness.
Engage Educate Excite
A positive, fun-filled soccer programme executed in a friendly, pressure-free engaging environment.
Guided by the likes of English FA and UEFA qualified coaches, pre-school teachers, UK qualified sports and recreational professionals and more importantly pro-active parents, the ESS Nippers programme is an ever-evolving quest to teach fundamental soccer techniques & elementary life skills in a vibrant, group play environment.
Invaluable social skills like listening, sharing, taking turns and teamwork are conscientiously woven into an involving programme that places as much emphasis on simple learning concepts like colors, shapes , well spoken English and numbers as it does on fine-tuning a child’s basic balance, agility and co-ordination . Coordination, agility, balance and accuracy are four general physical skills that are improved through practice which results in positive changes in the nervous system.
A VERY LEVEL PLAYING FIELD
We recognize that every child is an individual, and feel that children develop their skills best when they are playing with others of a similar age and ability. As such, ESS separate children into four distinct age groups, which encourage each child to maximize their involvement and development potential. In summary, the real joy of our 4 stages of learning is that we can offer a gently staggered learning environment for all our children an enjoyable yet challenging programme that is safe and always stays strictly within the child’s comfort zone without them feeling pressurized. Furthermore we adhere to the English FA child protection guidelines and procedures in which we are qualified in.
|Age 2 to 3||
By playing fun games that include specific actions and movements children gain greater bodily control while simultaneously enhancing their blossoming balance, coordination and gross motor skills.
|Age 3 to 4||Children are now at a point where they will be encouraged to participate in structured games and imaginative free-play using at times story book soccer , adding yet another dimension to their already flourishing nimble footwork and application of their improved agility and coordination.|
The arrival of these new found skills paves the way for our children to learn how best to move control the ball, their own speed , use dexterity and coordination in order to change direction comfortably with the ball at their feet.Age 5 to 6
With fundamentals mastered ,and a variety of skills and assets at their disposal now our next task is to couple your child’s blossoming physical and social confidence with a greater grasp of how to read the beautiful game. Shielding, first touch play coupled with control and defensive positioning are all classic examples of simple skills that over time will become second nature. Add to this memory improvement, problem solving and team awareness and your child will be quickly demonstrating all the hallmarks of a well-rounded individual with a wider appreciation of team play.
Irrespective of what part sport plays in your child’s future, we honestly believe the capacity to participate in controlled play; to think outside the (penalty) box to concentrate on instructions and visually assess a game will hold them in good stead for the future.
Age 7 upwards to 16
There’s no need to leave at 5! ESS juniors were developed in response to popular demand – many children who attend our classes want to continue to build their skills – both physical and social – once they have turned 5. Our ESS recreational philosophy is divided into 3 core areas to enable them to do just this:
ESS combines a series of activities that use imaginative play, familiar games, visual skill and creative participation to engage the interest of the child and makes them gain maximum enjoyment from participating.
